Woman killed by Metra train in Vernon Hills

VERNON HILLS — The Lake County coroner’s office was trying late Thursday to positively identify the body of a woman who was killed after she was hit by a Metra train.

Lake County Coroner Art Yancey said the female who was struck and killed by the commuter train has been tentatively identified, but authorities are using dental records to make a positive identification.
